Successful completion of the AEPA Health Exam shows your qualification to teach Health in Arizona public schools. The test content comes from six subareas.
- Personal Health, 19%: Understand principles of human growth, development, nutrition, and disease prevention; know the effects of drug abuse and how mental and emotional health impact personal health.
- Healthy Interpersonal Relationships, 18%: Demonstrate comprehension of the nature of familial and peer relationships and conflict resolution, along with an understanding of human sexuality and family planning.
- Community Health, 15%: Understand environmental factors and current issues in health, safety, and accident prevention, as well as the use of medical emergency techniques.
- Accessing Health-Related Information, 15%: Know how to find reliable sources of health information and be able to select proper health care.
- Health-Related Skills and Behaviors, 15%: Show proper decision-making and learning skills related to health.
- Health-Related Physical Fitness, 18%: Understand and apply the principles of physical fitness and training to enhance personal health.
